Education and training
Dr. Inanna Weiss took her medical exam at Odense University in 2002, after several stays at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, Harvard University and TU Munich. She trained as a plastic surgeon at Telemark Hospital in Norway, Rikshospitalet in Oslo and Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen. 2007-2010 was spent with a combined clinical and research Fellowship at the Vascular Birthmark Institute at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, New York in Vascular Malformations & Hemangiomas and Pediatrics facial surgery under the supervision of Dr. Milton Waner and Dr. Alejandro Berenstein, who are world-renowned specialists in treating children and adults with vascular anomalies, facial surgery and interventional radiology. She was offered a permanent position but chose to return to Europe.
In 2022-23, she completed a 6-month residency at the Center for Mohs Surgery at Erasmus University, Rotterdam – Europe’s leading institution for Mohs Surgery.
Dr. Weiss is fluent in Swedish, Danish, English and German and is a member of all Scandinavian plastic surgery societies, ISSVA and others. She has organized many congresses, present annually at international congresses, and stay up-to-date at international meetings and courses.
Experience
Dr. Weiss has worked at Rigshospitalet in Oslo and Copenhagen and at St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital Center in NYC, where she completed a 3-year training with Dr. Milton Waner, one of the world’s leading specialists in the treatment of Vascular Malformations and Hemangiomas. During this residency they treated over 2000 patients as a team, both with complex facial surgeries (where large malformations are removed while preserving the facial nerve and facial structure), oculoplastic surgery and laser.
After her stay, Inanna returned to Rikshospitalet in Oslo where she was a leading figure in the national team treating Vascular Malformations & Hemangiomas in Norway, where she was central to the coordinated multidisciplinary treatment of this patient group.
Dr. Weiss became a board-certified plastic surgery specialist in 2014 and has since worked at Department of Plastic Surgery at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen before co-founding Scandinavia’s first clinic specialized in the treatment of skin cancer with Mohs Surgery, Hudkræftklinikken, in 2016. Here she was the plastic surgeon in charge until mid-2022.
She is an expert in the treatment of skin cancer with tissue-sparing techniques and subsequent reconstruction with discreet scarring, Mohs Surgery and has performed over 5000 such procedures.
In addition to his extensive expertise in reconstructive facial surgery, congenital (vascular) malformations and pediatric plastic surgery, Dr. Weiss has broad experience in aesthetic surgery with an emphasis on facial surgery, oculoplastics, and regenerative procedures. She pays special attention to preserving the natural look and advocating improving your appearance and health without looking altered.
To stay up to date with the latest techniques and ensure her patients receive optimal treatment, Dr. Weiss often collaborates and consults with colleagues in her wide international network in London, Paris, Madrid, Vienna and New York.
